India has one of the biggest armies in the world. However, i can't see India in the world war III (if it started some day). It's very probably, in 2020 India becomes a developed country, because they are working for it, and they are doing a great job in economy, technology, science, and others. So, if they ever joined to a world war, they could loose all that work they made to improve their nation (even if India wins). That's why i don't think India join to world war... but... you know howh this world is... some things changes in one second, that's why am not 100% sure about this! hahah

Well, they're pretty busy with Pakistan a lot of the time...
If you mean, by enter the world war, will they get involved in the Long War (or War on Terror, your choice), I hope so. They've got their own experiences with terror - It would be good to have their help. The Indian military is growing, learning, and really becoming a powerhouse. It would be good to have them on our side. Their top-of-the-line MiGs are excellent fighters and their Navy is doing well.
If you mean will they enter a global conflict on the order of WWII, that would depend upon who what where when and why...China is very worried about the close ties begin developed between the US and India So...if the US and China squared off over Taiwan and the conflict widened...would they join in?
I think they might. They would have a lot to gain in terms of prestige and expanded regional influence, I think they would see that as worth the expense in blood and treasure.

For most of developed country power goes to the brain and they enter the war to get it out.
India will only enter the war only if there is any security threat for the country and its people.

No India will not enter the world war but will defend his boundries from the enemies .Don't even think about entering the world war.

there isn't a world war going on. there's trouble in the middle east, but i don't think that's classed as a war anymore. Its a civil war in Iraq, the western countries are there left over from the war which i'm pretty sure ended a while ago.

India is engaged in a political and military matter regarding Kashmir. There have been skirmishes with Pakistan. You have become victims of terrorist attacks and suicide bombers. China and India have, on and off, had battles over territorial rights. If we are indeed in the midst of another world war, you have been a part of it, too.

Fact that we've supported the British in world war (pre-independence days) and by the unquestionable capability of Indian defence forces.
