The book of Sirach or Ecclesiasticus 22:3 was written before Jesus founded the Catholic Church. Get your history correct! The Hebrews wrote the book. It reads "an unruly child is a disgrace to its father, if it be a daughter, she brings him to poverty. A thoughtful daughter becomes a treasure to her husband, a shameless one in her father's grief." Where does it say a daughter is a loss? It does mention disobedient boys and girls are a disgrace to the parent, which is true. It is talking about the dowry a father pays if her daughter is not married off quickly. There is no such thing as a catholic bible. Holy Scripture is one since the beginning of the recorded bible. The Catholics are the guardians of Holy Scripture. Women are just as important as men in the kingdom of God. Something that is questionable in Middle Eastern society.

I think you are mistaken, lady.
If it's from Ecclesiasticus it's from the Old Testament and the Hebrew scriptures, so why don't you ask the Jews.
We Catholic Christians have the new Teastament from Jesus and as God He explained a lot of the old stuff that people had gotten wrong.

Not only was that written about 200 years before the Catholic Church was even founded, what it actually says is, "An evilnurtured man is the dishonour of his father that begat him: and a foolish daughter is born to his loss." Is bearing false witness acceptable in Islam?

i have asked that same question myself.
the responses i´ve gotten simply amaze me.they usually say it is justified because it happen in another time, place ,and culture,
but doesn't the catholic/christian church still uses the same bible to this date?
and also they claim it was written by man.
but wasn't it supposed to be inspired or written by the hand of god?
so if everything that say there is god word , that means he ordered all of those misogynous treatment for women?
is that the god of love you worship? to me , he is not worth it even
if someone proved to me he was real!!
