Where's its mom? It's too young to be weaned. Start with soft (moistened) puppy kibble at 6-8 weeks.

The puppy is too young to have been weaned from his mother, ideally he should still be nursing. You can buy a milk replacement at walmart, it is pretty much like baby formula, specially made for dogs. Don't give him cow's milk, it will give him diarrhea. Feed him either canned food, or puppy chow if he can chew it up.

FYI, a friend of mine who is a vet thinks that this is part of the reason that pit bulls become aggressive - that they are taken away from the mama dog too early. The mother dog does more than just feed the puppies, she also teaches behavior and social skills.

A puppy that young should still be with its mother! If it can't be, please see if you can find a substitute mother. Shelters often have mothers nursing litters either on site or in foster homes. Even just a gentle adult dog to snuggle with and follow around would be better than nothing.

It's not just feeding that's an issue, but rather vital socialization that occurs between the pup and its mother and littermates. Your pup is about to lose out on a vital period of development during which puppies are starting to learn how to play politely with each other and their mother begins teaching them basic manners involving respect toward an alpha. Losing out on this period of development can lead to lack of bite inhibition and an anxiety-ridden, hard-to-train dog -- which is a total disaster for a pitbull especially.

You can buy cans of milk substitute at pet stores until you can find a mother to take in the puppy. Ask your vet for advice on that. You can introduce him to kibble already, softened by soaking in warm water, but he still needs milk as a major part of his diet. He can be slowly weaned off of the milk and given more and more kibble, and be fully weaned by 7 to 8 weeks of age.

He really should be with a litter and a mother, or at least with other dogs, until he's 8 weeks old though. Please make the best effort you can, for your dog's sake and your own.

I raise GAME pitbulls. Take my advice! I know more than mosts when it comes to pits. Feed him a meat based puppy food with no rice or corn in it. Then order NuVet. Its a vitamin for bully breeds. Keep him active and try mixing the food with wet dog food. Hes still young. (mix the dry food with pedigrees wet canned dog food). Once hes about 3-4 months feed him chicken 1-2 per week!
