well first would be to take her somewhere really really nice ( doesnt have to be way too expensive ) , but a place where both of you are dressed nice ...
as you pick her up give her a rose, then after the nice dinner it would be very romantic to have this nice perfect moment with her, when you tell her how much you love her and how beautiful she looks , then you kiss her!
and... you can give her a small chocolate box... after spending a nice romantic dinner, at the end you will give her this gift ( the gift can be anything that will love, it has to be sentimental for her, something that you know means a lot to her)... you just have to make this night something that she will remember for ever!
oh I dont know how your relationship is, but if you can after the diner take her back to your place, have your place all romantic and nice, and THEN give her the gift! you can have shampaine and all, so romantic and then, you know what ;) she is a lucky girl ;)

I have only just solved this problem for myself so I don't mind if you steal my idea, ( or ignore it if you like.) My girlfriend is presently overseas and I will be meeting up with her in time for us to share Valentine's Day together. I bought a nice cask and inside I have 100 roses. Because, I have to go through customs, the roses are made of paper but are very realistic. Also, 100 roses would normally require a very big cask which would be a hassle and a bit of a joke rather than a romantic gesture. Each rose is about 3 inches long. Inside the cask with the flowers is a romantic message :
" 'A rose by any other name is still a rose.' Will Shakespeare said that. 'My love is a red, red rose.' Robbie Burns said that. ' I give you 100 roses.' John M. said that.
Now this is still a secret - don't tell anyone because I don't want to spoil the surprise !

Give only what you can afford. A girl would not want to feel guilty or worried if you gave her something you couldn't afford. A card and only one rose can be as romantic as a dozen roses and more. It's the feeling behind it that counts.
