Eat because you need your strength, fruit is good because it doesn't have lots and lots of calories, but provides you with the sugar you need to stay energized. However, eat staples like rice, bread, and pasta with the fruit. Pasta salads with apple slices or other kinds of fruit are excellent, as are fruit slices dipped in yogurt with some granola. Eat what you most FEEL like your body needs, just remember to notice when you're hungry. Some times I forget to eat, and its not good and I end up feeling sick or getting really crabby. But that's just me.
Breakfast is a very important meal to eat, because it starts you off feeling fresh and energized.
Every time you sit down, do 25 crunches (provided you feel like it), and every time you get up in the morning, do 10 leg lifts of each side. Start small, and work your way up to 25 reps, and then 30, and so on and so forth (but ONLY up to 50. Don't over-do it. Alternate sides every 15 reps or so).
Your arms are probably wicked strong because of holding your kids, but push up's (on your knees) is an excellent exercise to do on the floor.
Crunches are some of the best things you can do for your whole body, and 25 or 30 a day will be really good for your body and will feel super good. It gets the blood circulating faster.
Best of luck! Have lots of fun with your kids. :-)

Its a proven fact that skipping meals wont help you at all, because like you said, when you do eat you eat a lot. The healthiest thing to do is to eat small light meals, preferably 5 throughout the day, and eat slow, if possible. (see the link below for a 5 meal a day plan)

Also, it sucks to hear it but, it's really hard to lose any weight by JUST dieting. Or JUST exercising and eating whatever you want. The best way, and usually the only way to lose any kind of weight is to do a healthy balance of both. Below are a couple more links that recommend some exercises specifically for moms that dont' have much time on their hands.
Good luck!

the first thing that you need to do to lose weight is speeding up your metabolism by eating more often than you are. Just make sure it's smaller portions but more often. I know it's hard w/ 2 little ones. But even if you can put small portions of cut up fruits and veggies and cottage cheese, etc, this will really help when you need to grab something. It will get easier in time.
Oh yeah, I love whey protein. You just grab out a scoop and mix it w/ milk or water--real fast and for the cost, it's cheaper than chicken breast.

It is just normal for mothers like you to be slightly fatter after having pregnant. But not to lead to obesity. We have 3 special concerns for the postpartum mather: restocking nutritional stores, providing good quality milk for her breastfed baby and losing weight gradually.

Here are some of the successful strategies for weight loss especially for postpartum mothers:

1. lose weight gradually - 1 to 2 pounds per week
2. reduce fat intake and eat more fruits, veggies, whole-grains, and nonfat milk/lowfat milk and milk products, and lean meat products
3. if breasfeeding, don't attempt weight loss for the first 6 weeks postpartum, then aim for a weight loss of no mroe than a 2 pound weight loss per month
4. eat regular meals and snacks
5. watch portion sizes
6. include high protein foods in your meals (chicken breast, water packed tuna, grilled salmon)
7. begin to exercise as soon as your health care provider gives the okay. Having exercises doesn't mean that you need to enrol in classes or have a strict daily program. as you perform your household chores and tending to your children will do.

Remember as you eat, the RIGHT amount, kind and time of eating. And that sedentary lifestyle is a major factor for overweight leading to obesity.

Guess I help you so!

You gotta eat breakfast hon if you're gonna keep up with the babies. Have a protein shake to make sure you're getting what you need and it's quick! Have another in the afternoon. You need protein to keep your body running. Herbalife has excellent nutrition in their shakes and even some good quick snacks that will help keep you going but help lose the weight.

Buy some fruit and yoghurt and milk and make yourself some smoothies, they can be drank on the go and fill you up and are nutritional. For added fibre, add some wheat to it or muesli, it is also low GI which means they fill you up and take longer to burn off energy wise, and are low fat.
For exercise, get a double stroller and stick them in it and go for a walk, 30 min a day is all you need, They will love the fresh air and your body will love it too. For rainy days, get a cover for the pram and put a poncho on yourself.
You can do it!!!!
I had 4 babies in 6 years and I am doing it for ME :)

well you answered your own question..you have to eat!!! you have to eat breakfast within one hour of waking (cereal,oatmeal,b-fast bar, protein shake etc) with fruit or juice, then eat every 2-3 hours after that to regulate your metabolism. eat small frequesnt meals. I know it's hard with kids, i have a toddler, but plan ahaed little snacks at night b4 bedfor the next day, boiled eggs, veggies, beef jerky,soup,tuna..all great quick protein meals. try to cut carbs out or your dinner, but you need them during the day for energy. drink plenty of water, and get moving a little more each day and stretch to relive stress (stress helps store fat btw) good luck! here is a cool sample menu plan i found...http://www.3hourdietathome.com/WeeklyMenuSmall.asp?tier=-1
