They try to protect us from ghosts and negative spirits.

a few years ago I did a house blessing in Georgia, USA where the family dog would go to the head of the stairs and growl at something in the basement.

I have also got other entries that you may find interesting such as paranormal, Hawai'ian mysticism "pule_me_mana", a brochure that teaches zen to people new to Zen, and more.

I don't know if they actually protect us from ghosts, but animals are certainly more sensitive to the energies that seem to surround paranormal activity.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe they do! Dogs may alert us to the presence of a ghost, and thereby protect its owner from harm. Though my feeling is that ghosts do not normally harm people. They are on a different plane than we are, and cannot usually interact with us (ie. inflict physical pain)

Dogs dont actually PROTECT us from ghosts but being as their senses are MUCH keener than ours & they knwon to have a sixth sense they are able to detect that ghosts or spirits are around us or present so in a way I guess if by being aware that you arein the presence of spirits you consider protecting then I guess yeah they can

Hi Kevin, Yes,i do believe dogs do.At times they can sense a presents in our house, specially the hall way to my moms room. She passed on 13 years ago. we have seem things that we know it's my mom,and the dogs can sense you is there. She wouldn't hurt one of us. I think she is inbetween like a ghost plane, and needs help to move on. This is real, and no joke. Yes,i believe dogs can sense a presents to warn,or help someone. A Friend.

They have been known to keep ghosts at bay. They can act as an early detection when determined ghosts are around us.

Hey Kevin! It isn't the dead ones who are out to get you son it's the live ones you have to worry about. That said, I have had dogs AND cats look into corners and start snarling/ hissing, hair standing up etc. and actually follow something that wasn't visible with their eyes. Nothing there noit bugs not mice NOTHING. But they sensed something....
