they need to be small enough to fit inside a tic tac container. If your wondering i found an article on how to make a L.E.D flashlight out a tic tac container. If not can a capacitor be substituted for a battery. also does anyone know where there might be a website with the same tpoic but with detailed directions? thanks

All rechargeable batteries have internal drain where at best they will lose 2% a month. I think the rechargeable will wear out from being recharged faster than the lithium will drain one time.

Don't use rechargeable batteries. Use Lithium button cells. You can fit enough into the ticktac box to last for years.

Remember that parallel ++, -- will preserve the voltage and +-+- adds the cell voltage. You can add more LEDs to precisely match the ideal voltage drop across each diode. The more diodes/higher voltage the better it will be.

I would reconsider the project.

Ah... at the supermarket or maybe at a camera store... you can also find them at shops that sell LED flashlights
