I would think as long as you aren't working.. You should be fine.. As they compensate you for not working.. You can be loaded and still get unemployment.

No it will not mess up your unemployment. If I remember correctly it will make you eligible for unemployment even longer. My brother was laid off and received unemployment while going to school on a federal pell grant until he landed a job. However, they did put his on hold for a week (maybe) to verify enrollment.

If they find out--yes, you can face legal problems,as in to receive unemployment compensation you must be "available to accept a job for work during the work week."

If you do get caught you would have to pay back the compensation you received.

In a way not. You are reported when you make money, not when you borrow money. Also, you are supposed to let them know you are going to school and looking for a job. You might call them anonymously and tell them you want to file for unemployment and go to school and how that works.

Worked for me though. But this is Texas now. Other states I do not know.

your supposed to be actively looking for work and be able to accept it at any time. if you haven't gotten an advance o.k to be in school, then your in a heap of trouble. are you falsifying the what you put down as places that you have put in job applications? thats fraud

You are required to report any change in status to the unempoyment office.

Why would you think it is OK to defraud the taxpayers by taking what is not yours to take.

Yep---- Yep---- Yep. Better hang onto the unemployment checks so you'll have it to give back to them when they come after you.

Theoretically perhaps, but you're dealing with a dead-in-the-water bureaucracy. There's nothing to worry about.
