i need a methodology on how to extract ethanol from a certain plant and i need the simplest methodology and also i need a method on how can i test if the product has ethanol. thanks!

You'll need to still the plant (ferment and distill) and check the alcohol content with a hydrometer. Read this whole site for some really great starting information on ths subject, including how to build your own still...

Do you mean extracting ethanol that's aready in the plant, or are we starting a brewery here? Most ethanol is produced as a waste product from bacteria in a process called fermentation. Google moonshine for that.

Plants do not contain ethanol. The plants can be fermented to produce alcohol. Yeast is usually the microorganism used. You need to distill the mix to separate the ethanol.
