Not as long as our president, vice president are oil men. Most politicians are elected from campaign contributions from big oil and pharmaceutical companies. In fact oil companies made all time high profits and received huge tax breaks and government subsidies.How do you develop anything when the oil companies have the government in their back pocket. My prediction the alternate fuels will be developed in some other oil dependent country that imports 100% of their oil such as China, because as they develop their country alone could consume most of the oil in the world. Just something to think about.

I am afraid not. To much tax and profit in government controlled oil.Good side is the future is unwritten, so I could be wrong. When they can figure out how to tax sunlight, or wind then, sure, it will be a fast transition.
