My nephew just completed the 3 year max that you can serve as a Thunderbird. He has recently been transfered to Langley Air Force base to be a crew chief on the new F22 fighter.
Thunderbirds aren't given a ribbon, pin, arm patch, etc. to indicate that they have served in this elite group. It's not right!!
The Air Force is very selective about picking the candidates for this assignment. I know for a fact that my nephew is very proud to have served as we family members are proud of him.

It sounds like most of you don't really know about the T-Birds. They are not a fighting unit but are showmen of their flying skills. Their hame is in Vegas and all of their air shows are done state side with main focus to help Air Force recuiting. Those are some real goofy answers folks.
