I play guitar and I was thinking of writing a song for my girl? but I was wondering if she would think it was too much. is it a timing thing too? like don't do it too soon?

I think most girls would really like it, but if you just started dating her like less than maybe 6 months becareful how you word things becuase you don't want it to be to serious yet. But if you've been dating for a while...it would be VERY sweet and romantic.

I know that for my birthday my boyfriend stole my car in the middle of the freezing night, cleaned it and had a CD in the changer with a song that he had made for me. I practically cried, it was so amazingly thoughtful.
So to answer your question, I think it's a wonderful idea but it is something extremely personal to write a song. If you don't feel like your relationship is that serious yet then I wouldn't recommend it.

definetley thats really sweet! i guess there would be a timing thing if you were still a bit awkard around each other. don't do it if its just 2 weeks but if its a month then go for it! sing it to her on valentines day. maybe serenade her (like sing to her from the ground and she hears it from her window) but that might be a bit much if you guys r in high school cuz her family will be there and what if shes not home? it might not work that way. but go for it! make it meaningful

I don't know of any girl who would not like a song written for them. I'm married to an artist and one of my wedding gifts from him was a portrait done of me. It's the most romantic thing I've ever received so go ahead and write it!

My x boyfriend use to sing for me it was wonderful, it takes alot of courage and guts to do something like that trust me ahe will love it, and admire you for it, but if you are only going out for a little while stick to singing songs that are not your own, like Hero- ny Enrique if things progress to the next level then start writing your own songs, better yet ask her what her fav song is and sing that for her........... Damn i miss my x-bf

Timing does matter, but go with what u feel. Take a chance! As long as you sound pretty good and are genuine then she will respond with at least appreciation if she is worth your time...

I would say just go with what you are feeling.

it would depend if your gal is the romantic kind, cos if she isn't, she'll probably be freaked out by all the overly romantic stuff.
if she love those sentimental love songs, a song specially for her could work. althou don't make it too overly mushy...

Yes, you are very smart to think of timing. If it is too soon, she might think it's corny. You have to decide for yourself because you know her personality.
