Hello, all --
I live in Western Canada, and I'm planning a trip to Florida. I don't have a passport, and with delays the way they are, I'd miss the big event in Florida if I waited for my passport now.

I know I can travel by sea or land into the states without a passport, but would I be able to take flights within the states without one too? My plan is to travel by road into Seattle, and then take a plane from there to Florida. Is that possible without a Canadian passport?

It turns out that, no, they don't, as long as the flight is domestic and not international. Thanks, everyone. http://www.ppt.gc.ca/help/faq.aspx?lang=e

Well, i work for an office where passports are handled and we are advising everyone who is travelling to the U.S. to have a passport.

I certainly hope our wimpy government also insists that Americans have same when they travel here.

It was the U.S. after all who started this whole thing.. not trusting anyone...

If i were you, I would certainly get one...

If you are flying into the States from Canada, you need a passport. If you are driving and then flying, you may need a passport to fly inland US because they do ask your name, etc for the ticket..there should be a definitive answer for you in amongst the answers, but next year you will need a passport for sure upon entry to the US, no matter what, unless the rules get changed

No, only if you leave the country. Even though your not a citizen (I'm only assuming) you can still fly within a country without a passport. However now things have really changed. You still might want to check around on this before you just try it. Traveling in the US though airports has grown to a major Hassle now.

Of course You do. You are still a foreign national. The best thing for You to do is to check with the appropriate U.S. Government Authority.
