Are you going to live in the house, or flip it? If you flip it, don't spend more than $5000, but if you are going to live in it, then store bought, or custom built. Store bought is CHEAP, but they will take you to the cleaners. Custom built in place cabinets will cost a little more, but they are well worth the money. Counter tops are another big choice to make. Formica is cheapest, and durable, tile is more durable, granite is nice, but expensive, Cori-an is really nice, and I have seen poured in place concrete counter tops, in various colors, that is very durable, but expensive. Plumbing fixture prices run across the board, from cheap to super expensive. Lighting and electrical will need to be updated, with recessed lights being the trend now days. Smart appliances, and more functional gadgets, is where you can go crazy. Flooring is another area that probably needs to be looked at. Your best bet, sit down with a kitchen designer, and explore the possibilities. Good luck!

It depends on how much you do yourself. If you opt to do all the removal for the old stuff, you can bet on decreasing your bill about 1000 dollars, and then add the kitchen onto that. Depending on what style and what type of wood, and how complicated the layout is and the detailing, it can cost you from 2000 dollars and up. Good luck!
We did the exact same thing, and got our counter tops, and sink replaced for 2000 dollars, and that included the removal and disposal of the old ones. It costed more as we went along for little things like new plumbing and additional details like beveling. We are currently refacing our cupboards. This is our first time and I must say they look pretty darn good! The wood and all materials only costed us 300 dollars, but that is because we opted for birch. And my brother works in a paint store, so the stain and materials were really cheap.

depends on alot of things, like the size of the counters, and how many cuts they have to make for corners, sinks and such as all that, ... depends on what you want for cabinets, you may want to just modify the existing cabinets with new doors or the likes of that, the tile floor, gawd there are so many price ranges for tiles and types of tiles. and there is no medium med-large kitchens, they are all different basically your best bet is to get with an interior designer and see what they have to say.

There is no limit that you could spend on this. There are many many options to choose from. Probably as little as $2000 upwards to $30,000. Call some cabinet makers but don't call Sears as they are way expensive.

My wife and I redid a 13' x 12' kitchen in our first home, ground up, tore out the floor, walls and ceiling and redid it all, grand total around $5500 (excluding appliances), but we did all the work ourselves.
