Yes, olive oil is fine. Its perfect. I used it for awhile on my daughter while she was really little. Baby oil is not good for the hair at all, it does nothing good, it just sits there. Look it up, there are tons of web sites that discredit the miracles of baby oil. Its derived from petroleum which is a gasoling product.... I wouldn't put that on my baby. My daughter is now three and her har is mid back length, now I use a hair lotion called BB on her, it works perfectly. Babies losing some hair is natural, but if it is alot and his scalp is flaking or peeling and red, take him to a doctor, don't put anything on his hair cause it could irritate it further.

it might be a little late but do not use olive oil. Hair care products made with olive oil are fine, but straight olive oil is not. My little sister is hispanic and black and she used that on her hair when she was a baby and whatever it did it wasnt right. IT's fine now that she's 12 but then it wasn't. Baby oil would be alot better

You can use olive oil, but watch it dosnt get in his eyes it will sting....sometimes baby oil works too....there are some prescription shampoos that you can get from your doctor.....or you can check at a special babies store, like babies r us...they may have something...
With my oldest I uses baby oil, and then took an infant comb and gently combed her hair after the oil was on a few minutes.....hope this helps
