I doubt that young gangsters like the ones in L.A., will dress up in a business suit and act nice and professional when buying a gun. NOT that that means anything. But in otherwords, is it that easy to fool gun sellers into making them think that you're a good person and will use guns for a nonviolent cause?

How do those gangsters get guns?

Shouldn't there be requirements in hiring a gun seller. He should have some degree in gun selling and use a Lie detecctor .

Very few (last I heard was +-10%) of the guns bought in a store are used by criminals. All states require that the person buying the gun has a background check before leaving the store with the firearm. If you have been convicted of a felony or violent crime, then you are ineligible to own a firearm. Where the other +-90% of criminals get their guns from are either by stealing them themselves or buying it from someone who did. There will always be the corrupt gun dealer as there is with every profession; Judges, Police, Politicians, even teachers. But the meticulous records gun dealers must keep and the punishment for selling guns illegally is usually not worth it, so corrupt gun dealers that are not in jail are very rare.

the GUN LOBBY isnt the problem....its in the bill of rights that we have the right to keep and bear arms.

violent criminals will allways find a way around the system to get what they want. Thats why they are criminals.

Instead of blaming the honest law abiding gun owners in our country for ALL the problems in society, take a look at countries that have banned guns totally....like the united kingdom. The crime rate there is just as high as it has been and violent crimes havent dropped that much.

Criminals will allways be able to get what they want when they want it. Its the DUTY of us law abiding gun owners to stand up for our rights, protect what we own. A responsible gun owner would make sure that his/her firearms are locked in a safe with trigger locks as well....register them properly and record the serial numbers incase they are stolen for some reason.

IT is the responsibility of all of us GUN owners to keep them safe and away from criminals who shouldnt have them. If we surrender our rights to the government and our guns...who is to say they wont take away our free speech rights...or our miranda rights either?

Then we are no better than our enemy....

I leave it up to you.....I have done my part...

They rarely get their guns legally and the only "degree" a gun seller has to have is a federal permit to sell guns. I imagine it is issued by the ATF.

And when is a gun ever used in a "non-violent cause"? Even using a weapon in self defense....justifiable homicide...is violent. I understand what you mean but when I purchased my first handgun and rifle I never tried to fool myself that if I ever had reason to use either weapon it would be for a non-violent cause.

The sale of guns must be regulated so that only responsible persons will be able to possess guns in order that there will be no guns going into the hands of criminals and gangsters.

gangsters smugle guns in the country or are given them by corruption, the only kind that have to buy a gun in a suit is the kind that are not gangsters.

They don't buy guns legally. They buy them in the street. Most guns sold in the street are stolen.

Gun sellers do thorough background checks. Those who buy guns the legal way aren't the ones using them illegally.

Gangstas don't get guns like you and I do. They steal them, trade drugs for stolen guns, break into gun stores, buy them out of car trunks full of stolen guns, get them from out of country gangs and gun runners, etc.
There are too many gun laws now! Just enforce the ones we have and leave legal owners alone!

Gangbangers steal guns, they trade guns for drugs, and they usually have one gangmember with no record who does their gun buying for them.
Also, you can buy handguns on the street as easily as you can buy drugs.

Seriously now, do you really think they go through legal means to get a gun?
