I'm not sure what everyone else is seeing but "barrier to contraception" is any reason why a person can not use contraception. For oral contraception this includes past history of DVTs, estrogen induced cancer (breast or ovarian), frequent smoker, etc.

A barrier is an item put across an opening to stop sperm, or anything else getting into it

It is a welcoming to become pregnant :) meaning there is a barrier to blocking birthcontrol

if its "barrier to conception" then it would be condoms, diaphragms, foam, etc

If its "barrier to contraception" then its the lack of self control
