So long as Penn comes into the fight in shape he should win. Hes a more rounded fighter then Sherk is. Sherk is a pure wrestler with excellent conditionioning, but he doesn't have the striking and BJJ game that Penn has. Bj Penn has awesome take down defense too so that should help him beat Sherk assuming he gets a shot at the belt.

I'm not really that impressed with Sean Sherk. Anyone can win on any given night, but 9 out of 10 times I think BJ Penn would win this fight.

Sherk is going to come into the fight wary of BJ's jiu jitsu game and will try and keep the fight standing. This will work to BJ's advantage because he has better standup that Sherk, has a longer reach and a better chin. BJ will wear Sherk out standing, and Sherk will eventually go to the ground. However, by the time he realizes that he has to go to the ground, BJ will have worn him out. That's when the submission comes, and the fight ends. This prediction only assumes that BJ comes in well conditioned for the fight. It'd be a huge mistake to come in sub par, because Sherk is a conditioning machine.

I would by no means underestimate the muscle shark he was huge at welterweight and he is MASSIVE at lightweight and even better he is quick as lightning, I think BJ would have trouble with Sherk's takedowns but while Sherk would probably be content to lay and pray for a decision victory I think BJ with his flexible rubber guard would catch Sean in either a triangle choke, armbar or omaplata from the bottom position.

Man you guys are crazy.... its not even funny how much stronger then everyone else sherk is at his division. Also by the way BJ Penn is the new coach of TUF 5 and at the end of the show he will fight Jens Pulver, who he has already lost too. If he beats Jens Pulver at 155, then he will get a shot at Sherk and will be beaten untill nothing is left of him. Also Sherk beat Nick Diaz standing and as u can imagine Diaz has a huge reach advantage. Also BJ can't submit Sherk because his ground and pound is too dominant. Have u guys ever seen a fight of sean sherk, ive never once seen him in danger of being submited.

BJ, if he doesn't "break" his own rib again. What a lame excuss for being out of shape. BJ has the experience and has dominated at higher weight classes. Sean looks strong, but his record does not reflect a dominant MMA champion like BJ.

i think of Sherk will win interior the fourth around via strikesto the pinnacle after BJ gases interior the third. I see this combat status for a sprint greater suitable than a minute interior the 1st around (BJ getting the greater effective strikes of course) then Sherk taking him down. BJ keeps to artwork and catchs Sherk in an ARMBAR. although Sherk breaks loose and kilos on BJ for the remander of he around. 2nd roun starts off with a without postpone take down and lower back BJ trys for a stunning submission. Sherk won't enable hiself to fall for the arm bar yet BJ catches Sherk's decrease back and places on a rear bare choke. Sherk gets out and the around's exhilaration won't proceed. The third although BJ keeps it status slightly yet commits to lots to a punch and Sherk gets yet another takedown. BJ is labored over the remander of the around of course drained. The fourth around would be total dominance via Sherk, touchdown 2 useful jabs then putting BJ on his bak lower back. This time BJ gets his face bloodied and the referee would be rigidity to intervine on the three:25ish mark interior the third around.
