My British husband and his family often eat bread with cheddar cheese and chutney on top of it. It is a favorite snack. Put the cheese on the bread, and put the chutney on top of the cheese.

I put it on a plate -- sorry -- along with assorted cheeses, bread (crackers, melba toast, toast, sometimes), a dab of good mustard, and some pickles to round out the snack.

Or, use it to dip samosas or pakoras in.
