I once knew a Pomeranian/Long-Haired Chihuahua mix named Spike who was a GREAT dog. Also some Chihuahua/Dachshund mix puppies, they were cool, a Lab/Greyhound mix named Huckleberry who was a real gentleman, a Bull Terrier (Spuds McKenzie type)/Dachshund mix named Frankie, she's a clown. . .
Can you think of any good ones?

I just saw a picture today of a Rottweiler/Basset Hound mix. It looked like a Basset body with a oversized Rottie head.
Also, a friend of mine has a Dachshund/German Shorthair mix. She looks like someone took a Shorthair and then cut 3/4 of the dogs legs off.

My dog actually looks a lot like the dog in your pic! He was found along the highway and taken to the humane society where we adopted him. He was just a lil guy and sooooooooo cute! He had a big head so we named him Mug-Zee. He is the star where ever we go. Some people say he looks like win Dixie. And he does except that Mugz is smaller and his nose is wider. He is a mix so basically a mutt but he is sooo awesome. My kids absolutely adore him! We have had him for wow 4 and a half yrs already. He has seizures which is really sad. Most of the time they are petite. But he has had about 3 grand mals. It is extremely hard to watch that! He is a terrier-charpe mix- he has the terrior hair and ears and when he lays down and curls up you can see the wrinkled skin of the charpe. He is so unique and such a good dog. He is one of the family that's for sure!

I LOVE mutts! :) Right now, I have two beautiful, interesting pound mutts.
The first is a Husky/GermanShepherd/Collie mix, who also happens to be blind. He "talks" constantly... when he's happy, angry, hungry, whatever (I guess that's a Husky thing?). He's also very smart and obsessive -- he has weird little routines and rituals that he has to go though every day (we figure that's the Shepherd); he LOVES to have his teeth flossed. He's very prissy, and has always been a bit of a sissy, even though he weighs about 80-pounds. He's also *extemely* smart and rather gorgeous (almost glamorous!). Very fluffy, long silky hair, with a magnificent curled tail that looks like a huge plume.
Our other dog is also very beautiful and smart -- and terribly sweet. She's a German Shepherd / Golden Retriever mix of some sort. She also has obsessive little routines, hates snowplows and is extremely protective of her blind "brother."
I've known many wonderful mutts throughout my lifetime; they have all been marvelously unique.

Some commercial breeders cross breed some pretty bizzare mixes. Bichon/cairn terrier (cairyon), Pug/pekinese (puginese), boston terrier/pug ( Bugg), Lab/poodle (Labrodoodles), Pug/Beagle (Puggles), Maltese/Yorkie (Morkie). Many more but the most bizzare is Siberian Husky/ Basset Hound!! Breeders do this on purpose and charge from$300-$1500 for these "mutts"

Lab/dachshund cross: weiner dog body and legs with black lab head, tail, and fur.
The "Hug": accidental breeding of a Husky and Pug who happened to live next door to one another. The mating took place through a chain link fence. The pug was the mother. Looked like a giant fluffy pug, litter of one pup.
Currently there is someone intentionally trying to mate her shih tzu with her pit bull just so she can advertise "bullsh**s for sale"... I'll keep ya posted on that freak of nature.

My dog Jericho is a chow, chihuahua, and pit mix. The mom was the chihuahua. The Dad the other two. He is very smart. He knows I have a fear of spiders and will try to kill every one he sees. He loves soda and has figured out how to chew on the top of a soda bottle to retrieve the liquid inside. We have a small kitten that he thinks is his baby and he will growl if she gets hurt in any way. I also have two other dogs that are the hienz 57 of all breeds. Golen retriever, lab, wolf, pit, and geman shepherd. Dad was the full blooded pit. We owned the mom who lived to the ripe old age of 15.We called the mom Shark because when she was a pup and my husband commercialed fish for mullet she would dive into the fish box and come out of the box with a fish to eat. She was also helpfull for helping us to "herd" the mullet into the net when we stuck it out into a circle. We kept two of her babies we called one wolf short for wolf-man-jack because when he barks he sound just like Wolf-man-Jack the old 50's DJ. And the other we call Redman Jr after his daddy he looks just like him. And last but not least we have a Walkerhound bluetick mixed with rednosed pit and rottweriller we call him bubba hes only 7 months old and is huge he weighed 45 pounds when we went to the vet for his last check up 2 weeks ago and the wierdest thing i cant get over is he likes to play with moles he has dug up our yard in his pursuit of the furry creatures and he plays with them . so far weve had to bury one but that is how he got his name ever read of mice and men .

My best dog was a Pomeranian/Poodle crossed with who knows what. She was a smallish dog with long brown fur. She came into our lives right after my hubby and I got married. She was my constant companion and friend. she was a great watchdog and never let anything bad get close to her mama. She loved kids and watched out for them. She hated squirrels, bikes, and assorted varmit type animals. She hate the rain but loved the snow. Ok...I am going to stop now...lol

I used to foster dogs for an adoption agency. There was one dog that was Rotweiler and Basset hound mix......LOl. He was so funny because he thought he was a big dog. He had a huge head like at Rot but the little stubby long body of a basset hound. We laughed everytime we saw him.
