Someone recently confessed to me that he is desperately trying to hide his feelings for our mutual friend, who is currently and obliviously in a loving relationship with someone else. What should I tell him?

I'm all for being honest and truthful about your feelings, but there is something also called respect. If the other person is in a loving relationship, then your friend needs to respect that. Also tell him to try and put himself in the shoes of the other guy; and see how it feels to have another man lust over his woman. Anyway, good luck, you know people are going to do whatever they want to anyway.

don't lie to yourself. if he has feelings, let them out. if it turns out good, then all the better, if it doesn't work out...at least he won't spend the rest of his life wondering what could have been if maybe he said something. but it takes a bold person. easpecially if the other person is already happy in a relationship. if he's truly in love then the other person's happiness shouls matter more. respect their feelings and relationship. it's easier said than done. i know i can't always do it myself, but i wish i could, and i wish the best for him.

Back the F off. So tacky to try to break up happy relationships.

tell him to lay off...there are a million other girls/boys in the world....his teen age passion might ruin a good thing. Be patient.

That you'll be there for him whenever he needs to talk, or whenever he just wants someone to listen.
