I THINK IT IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT ALL OTHER HOLIDAYS HAVE BEEN CORRUPTED INTO COMPLETE COMMERCIALISM SO IT CREATES A FINANCIAL BOOST IN THE ECONOMY AND GENERATES MAJOR REVENUE. WHEREAS RAMADAN IS ONE OF THOSE RELIGIONS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO MATERIALISM, OR THE "AMERICAN" CULTURE SO IT IS NOT RECOGNIZED, UNIVERSALLY, AS AN IMPORTANT TIME OF YEAR. HOWEVER, THEY DO MAKE CONCESSIONS FOR "FREEDOM OF RELIGION"

Because Ramadan isn't a holiday. It is a month of worship and fasting. The Only 2 holidays in Islam is Eid al Fitr and Eid al adha.. nothing else.

ramadan is too long, and the whole pc thing is getting rediculous.
the school schedules we have now are based on judeo-christian holidays and the need to have children off in the summer to do farm work. in america ramadan is a relatively new phenomenon. IF it is such a concern to you, have your children attend a muslim school I think they may accomodate .

LOL, might the individuals asserting NO be from america via any probability? properly enable's settle for it those non secular holiday trips do no longer rather have any non secular importance anymore. whilst human beings think of of Christmas they think of of family members and provides, no longer Jesus. whilst they think of of Easter they think of Chocolate and the long weekend forward, no longer Jesus. they are rather CULTURAL holiday trips extra that strictly non secular holiday trips. The Hindu's Shintoists, and so on, all get in on it in the event that they chosen. Why no longer Atheists? that is area of our cultural background, or maybe the church homes won't deny that they predate Christ and have been merely adapted from calendar pagan fesitivals to indicate activities in Christs life. as properly, the full economies of each and every of the western international locations are organised around those holiday trips. It merely does no longer be possible to enforce non-Christians to artwork those days. and then there is the situation of diverse Christians following diverse holiday trips, and so on...

Isn't Ramadan a whole month? That would be really impractical. Children from Catholic families don't get all 40 days of Lent off, either. And most children from Pagan or Jewish families don't get all their days off unless they ask for them, either.
