personally, i don't agree with the following, and i think it is fading very quickly with every career woman that succeeds in life. but the traditional way of life followed a pattern.
for men: money leads to power, which leads to beautiful women... with the trophy wife being the desired end. the trophy wife is how the world can tell when a man has succeeded in life.
for women: good looks lead to a rich husband, which leads to power... with the ability to order around educated adults being the desired end, which is how the world can tell when a woman has succeeded in life.
even tho the traditional roles of men and women are changing... old habits are hard to break when it comes to what we look for in a partner.

I think girls are more wrapped up with popularity than boys in the early years of school. I think it's more of an age thing, which girls eventually get out of. Some never do though, and are shallow in that regard. It's too bad how some girls will go after the guy that is an arrogant jerk, because he is popular when there are guys that have much more to offer than than the wealth, popular guy.

I think it's because guys don't really think with there heads when they are going after a woman. Also being a woman I can say we like having more status than other women it makes us feel powerful. We also always like to look or best and know that we can live comfortable the rest of our lives.

most girls really dont care... only superficial ones that have no confidence n think that will help them become "popular"... n if a girl is like that then shes not worth a guys time neway n the other way around

I don't know, you are making generalizations that do not apply to everyone. Instead of asking such a question, ask us for our own experiences. I, a male, am attracted to girls based on beauty and personality. She does not have to be GORGEOUS, she can be okay and have a great personality. However, she can't be gorgeous and have a crappy personality. So you see, its a combination of both.
