And what type of wood would you want it to be made out of?

My favorite is cherry. Pretty pricey, about $2500 or more depending on how far the wood has to travel and the selection process and the craftsmanship involved. Given the very best of everything could raise the price considerably , perhaps $10,000. Then there are chairs...

I'm in the construction field...my 100% max would be different than yours, so bottom line what is your max for you?...Oak would be my preferred wood,cherry is also very beautiful, both hard woods.....I have an antique oak dining table that still looks beautiful, 140 +yrs old....its just your preference and what 'you're' willing to pay for a beautiful piece of furniture...

I think 2000 is reasonable for custom quality, but if it has super carving and detail or is giant sized, you just charge your hourly. Materials + labor (your time). So determine what do you think your labor is worth, then price it.

Well i make them so let me tell you a little secret. We (the creators) only spend a small percent on materials to make it. Were just so darn creative is why we charge thousands of dollars.
