I really don't think that there are any places that help with something like that. What you could try is to write or email tv shows like Extreme Makeover. You could also write out your story along with before and after pictures and send them to any and all plastic surgeons in your state and ask if they would be willing to help you in any way. Some dr's do a certain amount of free surgeries a year to help people. Just tell them how hard you worked to get rid of the weight and how now you feel it was all in vain, etc etc.

I am pretty sure insurance will pay for reconstruction no matter how long ago the original surgery. If you have a new health insurance provider you may have a waiting period due to the pre-existing factor. Of course you would have to pay deductibles etc. Tell her to give it a try-there's nothing to lose. I had a mastectomy 16 years ago, no reconstruction, and, let me tell you, all the devices, protheses, can not substitute for a "real" or reconstructed breast. A woman who still has her breast cannot realize the problems encounted by a mastectomy patient. As to the surgery making cells run amok-c'mon-this is 2007, not the early 1900s! After all, a woman always has the option of changing her mind. Perhaps she is in a new relationship or applying for a job in which she will need a more confident appearance. Go for it, girl!

I am being serious here... Contact Oprah...or maybe Dr. Phil...they have done this type of charity work before...who knows, they may do it for you too.! I know your self esteem must be relly rock bottom..here you have lost all of this weight and still can't show off the results because of the hanging skin. Well first of all good for you for taking care of yourelf and lsoing 137#! That's terrific. Try calling these two suggestions...my theme in life is "If you don't ask, you don't get"...and the other one is "the worse thing they can say is, no!" Good luck!

Plastic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Might be if you can get a doctor to say you need this for your mental health you might get the insurance to cover it. I'm sure they will still fight you on it & you might have to take them to court. You never know until you stand up to them, sure hope you get what you need. Good luck.

Not that I know of, as this is considered a cosmetic type procedure. However, you should talk this over with your physician and see what he/she recommends. They may know of someone or some type of facility that can help you. And girl, you have done good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am proud of you, keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
