No... it's not racist... It's not about race. It might be intolerant... but I'll expect that the feelings you're having are generated internally from the felling that you're letting your father down. You'll have to expect him to be heart broke about your current dillema if he really believes what he says he believes. In his mind, his son just told him that he was going to spend the rest of eternity in hell... The fact that he's not very happy about just means that he loves you very much. I don't think he should require you to believe like he does... he needs to respect your right to decide for yourself... Likewise, you need to respect his right to decide for himself too.... He believes in God... That's very real to him and you have to expect him to not like your decision while you encourage him to be tolerant with you while you seek the truth for yourself.

Even though I am Christain, I think it's great that you're agnostic. To me, it simply means that you realize you haven't found the truth yet and you're looking for it. Becareful to not get pre-cognated opinions about God and keep truefully seeking the truth and you'll find it.

Find out who Jesus is and what his life and death were all about. If you're not going to believe in Him... you should at least make an educated decision... Take this very seriously... If you're going to choose to not believe in God... You'd better not be wrong. Think about it.

Is that racist?
Well it depends. The Agnostic race has been known to do a lot of searching the depths of existence so maybe.

No that's not racist. You should be overjoyed that you have a discussion based relationship with your father.

Unless your becoming an agnostic caused your skin to change color, no.

Just because he disagrees with you doesn't make him a bigot.

Your father needs to understand that his beliefs are his, and your beliefs are yours. I understand why your dad is mad,(because he wants you to be like him) but he should respect your decisions. There is nothing wrong with what you believe. It called free will. 1
