I use flyers, with something along the lines of
"Name
Great Babysitter
Good with ____ ages
Generally available _______
*cute picture*
Phone number"

Post the flyers on bulliton boreds around the elementary schools and pre schools in your area. Post them at music schools, and anywhere else that has an avaiable spot for those types of things, around your area. If there are any crazy child-oriented places, DEFINITLEY put some up there.

Also, tell anyone, like teachers, friends parents, ect. that you are a responsible and available babysitter, and ask them to spread the word, or reccomend you if anybody asks.

When I was a teenager (not too awful long ago!) I took a class and got a certificate. Then I posted flyers that I created on my computer at home and posted them at places that parents usually see - at the grocery store, the library, starbucks... You may have to get permission from the owner but that's what worked for me, and I had a ton of clients!

You could make fliers and check with local churches. If your school has child development classes you may also want to talk to a counselor or teacher...they may know of resources in your area. I know parents who have called schools and asked for references or if the teachers knew of any girls who were responsible and offered babysitting services. You could also look in the paper to see where parenting groups meet and try there.

Obviously you have a computer...print up flyers and post them around town. Or hand them out door to door.
