I found this article on the web. As you can see, it does say that ibuprofen may cause depression. You may want to talk to your Doctor.

Here's a snippet.
"There are some medications which, for a variety of reasons, appear to bring about depressive symptoms as a side-effect. Some of these are actually rather common. For example, it's known that NSAIDs (such as naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, etc.) can exacerbate depression in those already affected by it."

Having had a twisted knee, I can relate. It is possible you're worrying about your knee and you are probably not doing your normal daily routine....I didn't for several weeks. I was down too. As for the ibuprofen, different people have different reactions to drugs...CNS depression isn't uncommon. Try Aleve...it's Naproxen Sodium and worked really well for me. Good luck. What finally workes for me,.... and this is going to sound wacky....the doctor injected my knee with rooster serum...that's not what it is called and not even the medical name for it...but it ceratinly worked. It was five injections over 5 weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

I have never heard of depression as a side effect of ibuprofen. But I have heard of it as an effect of going from a very active lifestyle to having an injury. Slowing down your life could certainly have this effect, and lack of exercise, and perhaps even worry about your knee. I hope that this is temporary for you, but if these symptoms persist for more than a couple of weeks please do mention your feelings to a doctor.

Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..

But now with the method I can fully focus my energy and thoughts into a decisive line on how to make my life better constantly. And it works like magic! I'm beginning to attract people to me once again and things have just been looking up since then.

I've never heard of it interfering with your mood in any way. My guess is that you may just be a little down from being injured and in pain.

Never heard of this before. But, meds affect everyone differently. Maybe take a lower dosage.

i wouldn't think so, alot of people take it and that means alot of people would be depressed and besides it would be written on the bottle if that was a risk or side effect of taking it !!!
