He's at Fort Benning GA. One of his buddies snuck it in but he had been using it to call me. Needless to say the phone calls stopped. I haven't recieved a letter either, and I have written him 3. I don't know if he's just busy or if he got in trouble. what do you think?

Ft Benning always find the phones - then they are taken & the entire troop gets smoked & punished. A tough & I do mean tough physical workout (my son swore theyhad to hold their legs up for 20 minutes - people were passing out) & then they took all privleges away (mail, weekly phone call). The others guys do not like being punished for a boneheaded thing like a phone. Why would 2 or 3 get the privlege of using a phone while others did not have the use of a phone? Thinking is as important as the physical in the Army. My son is now a Captain & a US Army Ranger. You will hear from him soon - the Sgt. is just making a point the the guys.

I once hid a POPEYE comic book under my mattress and the inspector walked right to it (I was on compartment watch). There was no way he knew it was there. I had to do all kinds of dirty work to make up for it. So, if there was a PHONE in the berthing compartment and you haven't heard from your bf for a while, I'd hazard a guess that the phone was confiscated. What a stupid trick to try to get away with!! He's probably scrubbing toilets with his toothbrush as punishment.

hes probably very very busy and the phone got taken up and will be returned when he graduates. if he is good. writing letters isnt exactly a priority to the drill sergeants, so give him time he'll write when he's allowed the time to.

Unless he got caught using it or someone told that he was using it, he probably got busy. they do alot down there. They can catch them because cell phone signals interfere with certain communications things. my brother had something similar happen in his platoon while he was at benning

even if he personally wasn't the one that got caught, the entire group would be punished for it.

and if they haven't been caught..they will be. But BT is very busy, and it's possible that he doesn't have time to to write you.. they ypically only geta few hours on Sundays to themselves.. and they don;t always spend them writing home.

Yeah, he probably got caught and is in trouble right now. If you write again, do not mention the phone calls, his mail is probably being monitored

He got in trouble. Life in the military isn't fun & games anymore the way it is in HS. He's lucky he didn't get kicked out.

Do you know the name of the guy? My brother-in-law is there and he had a phone at one time.

He is probably in the deep stuff. Seems kind of minor, but in an all volunteer force, it doesn't that much to get your butt tossed.

I heard that for punishment, they have to listen to phone solicitors for a month straight.
