When your mind is easily diverted and you can't seem to focus on anything important for long ....

What's it called? Is it normal? What can you do about it (BESIDES medi[c/t]ation?

It sounds like this could be the beginning of obsessive compulsive disorder, but you need to see a psychologist or psychiatrist to get a diagnosis. Ask yourself this, are you so preoccupied with these thoughts that it is starting to interfere with normal daily life, such as missing school or work because you cant stop thinking (or singing or writing or whatever you are doing)? If you said yes, then no it's not normal and you need to see a doctor. The medications for OCD are pretty good from what I understand, so try to stay positive and open-minded. Good luck!

My father has this problem and he's been diagnosed with A.D.D. I'd say go talk to a doctor.
