My female cockatiel layed an egg on Sunday Feb 04, then on Tuesday it didn't but on Thursday(TODAY) it layed an egg. There are suppose to be 3 eggs by now but my cockatiel skipped tuesdai and layed it on thursday. Why did it skip a day?
She has a mate.... and they have two babies at the age of 7 weeks still in the nestbox and the cage.

my finches did the same thing.they laid each day until 5 eggs and then skipped 3 days and laid 3 more eggs after. It could be that it was a case of not enough calcium to form an egg. it stop this i gave mine ground up egg shell to eat that had been microwaved until dry.
Another thing is maybe she was just tired. Who knows? if your bird doesn't seem sick or struggling to lay everything probably OK.

I'm not sure why but cocktails might take a while to lay more eggs. I read they can have 4-7 eggs and on the 3 day if laying eggs the first hatch ling arrives! (I think my birds just mated and might have eggs too) I hope everything is okay for your birds!

I am not sure about cockatiels, but I know that parakeets lay eggs every other day.
The eggs in the nesting box might not be fertilized.
