Look into the word of wisdom. If it was followed by everyone, there would be no obesity and almost no adult diabetes. It's the perfect diet/lifestyle plan there is. I know when I follow it, I feel better, have more energy and am more able to deal with life then I am when I don't.

I basically says to avoid alcoholic beverages, tobacoo, coffee, tea and drugs. It says that grain is the staff of life and should be the main food supply and is given to men for our use. It also says that meat and other fats should be used sparingly. Fruits and vegetables should be second on the list, or anything that is grown from the ground. It explains the uses of tobacco and strong drink, and also gives promises if it is followed.

A study printed in the International Journal of Cancer recently reported these startling findings: Drinking very hot beverages appears to raise the risk of esophageal cancer by as much as four times. The researchers analyzed results from five studies involving nearly three thousand people. The study found that hot beverages did increase the cancer risk. The study provided evidence of a link between esophageal cancer induced by the consumption of very hot drinks. Another report by Swiss researchers found that a component in coffee (chlorogenic acid) actually destroyed much of the body's thiamin after one quart of coffee was consumed in three hours.

There is a report on the news right now about the amount of caffeine you get in a cup of coffee, and it depends on where you get it, there can be more in a cup then you realize.

I'm adding a link so you can read the word of wisdom for yourself. Just for added info, not to try and tell everyone they are wrong.

Aside from obesity that is caused by rare factors besides overeating, like anything else, the answer starts begins in being forgiven and receiving a new heart (being born again by faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus. Then IF and insofar as we co-operate with God, one thing we will do is eat more healthily, and only "for strength, nor for drunkness" (Eccl. 1017).

Jesus said follow Me, and His was the most consistently unselfish life there was, and the Bible warns of those whose "god is their belly" (Phil. 3:18), and it says that temperance (self control) is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5).

But the way of victory is by overcoming evil with good (Rm. 12:21). Focusing on not eating or on what you cannot eat will only make it harder. Instead be about doing good things for God, and do not be anxious about what or when you are to eat, rather "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Mat 6:33).

Everyone has a different metabolism, and i think it is also harder for women, but i believe by yielding to the Holy Spirit we can be lean - but not mean! Praise the Lord.

Then when you truly need to eat, i recommend first praying for others if you are home. Then watch the fat calories and only eat the amount you need for strength and never out of lust.

Where do I start?

Obesity is not completely the fault of the obese person. Giant food corporations have loaded our foods down with chemicals, hydrogenated oils, appetite stimulants, hidden sugars, and excess fillers. Food has been reduced to sugar & fat, with enough appetite stimulants in it to keep us on the "you can't just eat one" syndrome. That's why a person can eat a bag of oreos. Then the hydrogenated fats, which anything hydrogenated is just one ion away from being actual plastic, clog up our arteries, causing heart disease, strokes, colon cancers, etc, and then the fats cling to your organs, causing liver damage, obesity, hypertension, etc. Meanwhile, fast food targets today's society, which is always on the go. It is much easier for two working parents, if that is such a thing anymore, or a single parent to run through a drive-thru, grab dinner for the family, and save time & hassle by cooking. What we don't realize is that we are killing ourselves & our children with hidden dangers lurking in our foods. It's sad.
B/c of our busy schedules, we don't have time for proper exercise, which also causes our bodies to sag and fatten up. Walking first thing in the morning or exercising while doing household chores would help some.

Jesus is currently using others to educate us about what we can do to thwart obesity, thwart health issues, and take better care of ourselves & our families. Just turn on Daystar, or you can even got to www.christtemplechurch.net and watch onlne services on Sundays.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, I know a doctor who is interested in educating more people about what they eat and why. That might be a big part of the answer. Also, I was thinking that a lot of sedentary jobs might not exist anymore after the resurrection (for example, mine) because things like prisons and fraud departments and services for the handicapped might not even be necessary anywhere. So let's say everyone has shorter work hours and a shorter work week, and you don't have to be afraid of walking around your own neighborhood, so people might decide it's ok to be more active just because they're safer and have more time for fun.

Jesus would make them eat locusts and wild honey. Locusts have a get amino acid profile. They have a nutty taste when baked. ( Locusts suck when mixed in a blender.) Wild honey is great to spike your insulin post workout. Honey will drive the amino acids from the locusts and feed those starving muscles!

Jesus's workout tapes are Carpentry I & II. His advanced workout is cross dragging. Now you can be fit for his second coming!

My obesity plan is much simplier, it's called don't eat so f--king much!

He would air a workout program on prime time tv that is hosted by a very popular, down to earth, and funny talk-show host. Each time a new celebrity guest would work out and talk at the same time, talking about the importance of diet and exercise and how it affects their lives.

As a conservative, i am in desire of educating individuals on vitamin, instructing them to learn labels, after which enabling them to make their possess picks. Lib good judgment would be to ban any meals over 300 calories. Of path, humans with high metabolisms and physically active jobs would starve to dying, but oh, good.
