it depends on the hair. if your hair is really dry after you shampoo and air dry, then you need a moisturizer. instead of using a product, you could try using an oil like olive oil. but if you're gonna shampoo, make sure you condition and have a good deep conditioner and use that once or twice a month.

It depends on your hair, my older brother has no need for moisturizers. But this is a step I've taken and nothing really bad happened, my hair just got really poufy and kinda dry. It stayed long, but isn't a leap of faith I'd ever take again.
