Downgrade to XP?? While I agree that Vista is quite bloated by default, I would definitely not recommend going back to XP. Just the risk of losing everything the computer came with in terms of software, and then having to go through the nightmare of the Windows XP updates after install (there are at least 70 high priority updates even after service pack 2). Here my recommendation to you -- simply turn off all the default Vista eye candy and annoying user access control and you will be back to nearly looking like XP, and there is no doubt that Vista is more secure and has a much better memory caching feature for speed of opening applications (this is all assuming you don't have Aeroglass hogging all your memory). You can make Vista lean, first start by right clicking the "start" button and set it back to windows classic then right click the desktop and go to appearance/advanced and turn off the added enhancements, then by all means disable windows defender permanantly, turn off the eye candy task bar on the right of the screen if you want - then go to control panel/user accounts and disable user account control. Now right click the desktop, go to themes I think , and find where to turn of the Aeroglass 3d desktop features which is a serious resource hog -- then finish it off by right clicking your main hard drive icon and unchecking indexing service and press apply and then ignore all, this will keep your hard drive from running all the time trying to index files pointlessly.. Now just make sure you use lean applications for spyware and antivirus, AVG free for antivirus, spywareblaster/spybot for spyware, and stick with Windows firewall if you aren't paranoid (use Zonealarm free edition if you are). Now you will have a speedy system that will definitely be quicker and snappier than XP. oh, and I did forget -- go to control panel, security center and look at the left of that screen and click "change the way security center alerts me" and you can disable the ever annoying security center nag icon. Good luck. ---- Ok, let add another edit to this post -- To get back to the good ol classic windows desktop feel, you will need to right click the "my computer" icon go to performance options and click optimize for best performance (you can manually turn on a couple functions if you like them) -- also, you can right click the desktop click on "personalize" then click on "window color & appearance" and here you can change back to windows standard mode and by now you are feeling like Windows 2000 (my favorite) on top of the vista functionality. Follow these steps and you are set, but by no means void your warranty by re-installing an OS.

I agree with you.Vista take so much power to runs it.But you don't have to worry anything since windows xp come already with drivers. It's works.Take a note this.Install Windows Xp like normally and then install the driver cd supplied by the PC vendor.
When your windows XP is ready, configure back the internet connection and then go to My Computer>Right Click>properties>Hardware tab>Windows Update

Take a cip of coffee.Let the Windows Update itself and reboot after done.

Now you're ready! But make sure you have the Guinea copy of xp.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to dump Vista. If you get to know it better you might like it. Did you buy minimum RAM?

It relies upon. Vista calls for a sixty 4 bit gadget and XP is 32 bit. I had this example the position i needed XP and Win2000 on diverse walls of the force and it ended up ruining the force and ought to not be reformatted. It grew to grow to be out that I had a sixty 4 bit gadget and grow to be stuck with Vista and paying for a clean difficult force. you opt on to the contact Dell or Gateway and custom order one so as that that is determined up for 32 bit applications.
