the subaru forrester x vs fully loaded honda civic: you get more features w/civic, better gas mileage, overall lower maintenance. subaru has better/quieter ride, safer vehicle, awd, more storage for long drives.

can't go wrong w/either.

i wouldn't touch a vw

Well I have an 06 Honda Civic lx coupe and I love it! Very reliable, Honda's are known for this and they get very good resale value because of it. No security system, but it has an immoblizer system and an anti theft alarm on the stereo. Meaning, the keys have chips in them and if someone tries to force the ignition to start the car with something other than the keys (like a screwdriver etc.) it'll start but it'll shut off the fuel and they won't get very far at all. Not sure how the thing on the radio works...

Also, the stereo system is perfect for my needs but it's definitely not the best out there. The iPod connection you can get is also pretty bad, it sounds awful. Honda tells me it has more to do with the iPod than the car but I don't know.

The bucket seats can be uncomfortable after a few hours in them, but after you wear them in they're a lot more comfortable. You should test drive one and see what you think...

The Civic Sedan is safer that the coupe as far as crash test ratings (5 frontal, 4 side versus 5 frontal , 3 side) and comes with standard side/frontal/curtain airbags.

Edit: I forgot, it's estimated MPG ratings are 30 city 40 highway and I usually average 33/34 mpg with a 60/40 city highway mix

I've heard VW's tend to have a lot of electrical issues and I don't like the look of newer subrarus (what with the snout and all) but to each their own.

Good Luck!

It's pretty difficult to offer opinion when you haven't actually determined which models offered by the three manufacturers are of interest to you.

Lease residual value is a good measure of how well a car is expected to hold its value. Honda leads in this category, but it is followed closely by Subaru and then VW.

A criterion which you neglected to mention was occupant safety in a crash. Subaru leads in this category.

For me, I decided that my life and the lives of my passengers were more important than resale value, good audio, etc. I opted for safety and own two Subarus.

Go with HONDA. VW have transmission issues plus their brakes are only been checked and fixed by the dealers in CHICAGO. Subaru, little bit expensive but very smooth ride, resale value would be nice enough. However, If I were you, I would pick HONDA over everything, less price, good resale value. no maintenance...

I would go with the Honda, but the Subaru is nice if you want 4WD thats there special trade mark thing, its nice, bt burns a bit more gas. Honda's have the highest resale value and are great on gas economy.

i own a shop, and i would suggest a good Subaru ,they hold there value real good and do good at trade in time, also, but right now they have more to offer in options and cars that perform well and look sporty as well and run good ,and they have all the safety features built in to them also, like the impreza ,i drove one of these ,and it really surprised me that it was that good of a car,and it has a lot of spunk also not your average car, that's for sure, if you ever go drive one you,ll see what I'm talking about,if i buy another new one,it will be the Subaru ,I'm convinced on them, good luck,i hope this help,s.

I've owned both a Subaru and a Acura Integra (basically a Honda). My parents and sister have Hondas. I would go with Honda.

among your choices - pick Honda!!! dont go VW at all... lots of problems which are unrepairable... Subaru is good enough but you will not be wrong with Honda.... Other choices would be Toyota or Nissan.... Thats my advise and believe me -

Why make a car payment in 3 years it will break down you'll still be paying on it put your money away and save as much as you can find a job close or move there and ride a bike.
