In Heaven, you will be in the prime of your life. You will remember those who made it to Heaven, but God will not allow the memories of those who went to hell so that you will not miss them, or be sad. There is no pain or tears in Heaven.

The dead in Christ shall rise to meet the Lord in the air. Our physical bodies will be changed, & we will be dressed in robes of white.

yes and no.

those that are In hell cannot come to those that are in heaven because there is gulf between the two.
so only those that go to heaven, or whereever you go will be there to greet you.
Generally speaking there is a paradise that all the repentant can go. generally speaking most family members will meet you there.
but i sure would hate to be transferred to a place described in the twilight zone where everything you ever wanted is given to you, but NOTHING ELSE, and knowing you cant leave the place where you are put, is just as much a prison. Then again my apartment is no bigger than a prison cell, and the only time i seem to get to leave is to go to work.
For me the next life in HELL would be like a cylindral tube, surrounded by the lake of fire. Stay in the tube and not burn, or jump and get pulled down into hell by Demons or burn into a cinder without being able to get back into the safety of the tube.

For me the hell and torment would be having NOTHING.

Yes. The Thessalonian Christians were apparently very concerned about their Christian loved ones who had died. They expressed their concern to the apostle Paul. So, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Paul deals with the "dead in Christ" and assures the Thessalonian Christians that there will indeed be a reunion. And yes, believers will recognize their loved ones in the eternal state.
We are told in 2 Samuel 12:23 that David knew he would be reunited with his deceased son in heaven. He had no doubt about recognizing him. As well when Moses and Elijah (who had long passed from earthly life) appeared to Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration (Mat 17:1-8), they were recognized by all who were present. Furthermore, in Jesus' story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31, the rich man, Lazarus, and Abraham were all recognized by each other in the intermediate state.

I believe we'll be known to everyone in heaven. Our souls are as old as time and I believe in reincarnation. I think all our past families will greet us in heaven, and even our past pets. We will just continuing learning in the afterlife and continue doing what God put us here to do.

I fear something, I fear that I won't think how I am thinking now, I fear that I will not know I am in heaven, like how we think now, I am scared I won;t know when im dead. I don't want to die, and I believe that somewhere out there there are answers to staying alive forever, i just gotta find it. I don't know if we will be reunited with our familys all I know is that there is a god and he will be there for us.. :-D Hopefully. OK SO WHO WANTS TO CATCH A MOVIE! LOL just playing

There are many opinions about the afterlife. No one really knows. The most constructive thing you can do is to live the most positive and fulfilling life where you are at now.

Heaven and Hell are states of consciousness. So the first part of your question is yes. And what if this were the afterlife already?

Yes it says in the bible that in heaven you will be known as your known, but you will not know if someone in your family is not there because then you wouldn't be able to be happy, but yes if for ex. if you are married when you get to heaven you will know the person but you will not know that you are married to them, you will know everyone as your brother or sister

The Bible states that the rich man in hell recognized Lazarus and Abraham in paradise. Of course this is was not heaven but it would be safe to assume that if they recognized each other there that there would be no reason why people would not recognize each other in heaven.

The Bible says you will recieve a new name which sort of makes sense because think how many people throughout the ages have had the same name as you. But other than that I think you pretty much are the same person.
