There is so much of this type of scam going on on the internet these days. Maybe this is the first time you heard it though. Nevertheless don't take anyone seriously on the net. And, anyone asking for money just tell them "no" and put them on ignore. Too many good people have been scammed and lost good money they worked hard to earn. Yes, you were being played.

Please do not send her any money, she sounds like a con women.
How can she possibly love you, she never met you. There are so many scams going on, you must be very careful. Sometimes the so called "woman" is really a con man. Her so called "grandfather" could be her husband and they both trying to fleece you. If you want to meet someone of quality the Internet is not a good choice.

She's not sincere at all, but is only taking advantage of your vunerability and generosity. There are red flags everywhere!!! Don't be a fool and do this for someone you really don't know at all. She's using your feelings to manipulate you. Don't fall for it!
You will regret it big time donw the road. Just let it go and don't bother with it anymore. You're safer taking this route.

Why would you send money to someone that you don't know-if she was sincere she would have called you back-why would she ask you that on the first conversation on-line-she don't know you and you don't know her-yes she was playing you and you did right to challenge her-not only her trust and you saved $500 dollars-smart move

It's a scam. You're better off without her. The "grandfather" may be a seedy accomplice as well. Do not get involved.

Sounds like a scam to me. You did the right thing. You didn't outright accuse her but you protected yourself, so she moved on to someone who might not be as smart next time.

Yes, you did good. It sounds like you would have been a victim of a scam, but you averted it by asking for her information.
