Don't worry... NO ONE will tell your children that "we came from monkeys". Not one sane teacher would EVER teach that to a child.
Now... they most likely WILL teach the theory of evolution. That I assume you can tolerate as it's the observable, proven truth.

Maybe you could look into private school? I think that public schools are pretty good about coming to a middle ground.
What I really like about public school is that it's a mixing ground of all kids. They get to find out what other's bacgrounds are and learn from it. If you give your kids a strong background at home, they will feel more strongly about the beliefs you try to instill ion them if they ARE exposed to other ideas. Better they get exposed to it while young than much later when you aren't right there to answer their questions.
BTW, the evolution in text books is much milder than you are expecting. There is usually a paragraph or two indicating that scientists have found similarities in humans and apes. Some teachers even elect to omit this due to their personal beliefs.
The textbooks are mild because there are some school systems (like Texas state's) that are very strict as to what text books they allow intheir classrooms and since the text book companies like to print for the market as a whole, they tone down some parts of the books based on Christian values.
I'm sure if you're still upset, you can write a note to excuse your child for the brief day or two that this is covered in class.
BTW, I support you, but realize that the same goes on the opposite end. I'm appalled that they teach abstinence in public schools, but I accept it and rather than trying to change how everyone else parents their child, I'd prefer that that they are exposed to it all so that they can make their own decisions.

We have a youth study night on the Bible and science twice a month. Where let the kids talk, and the kids research both sides of the issue. Even debate it sometimes. We have adults that help with the research as far as where to find both sides points and evidence. The kids seem to really enjoy it alot. Not just some teacher talking to them. It is good for the parents too,so they can keep up with the newest changes. Like Evolution does not each that we came from Monkey anymore. And that Evolution is still very much a theory, and not anywhere close to being a fact.

I felt like you did at first, and I do have two children. What I came to realize is that as long as you teach them the truth at home and make them aware of what they are going to be taught and explain why it is not true and also that it is only a theory, not a fact anyway, it prepares them to deal with others. Lets say your child has a friend who doesn't know Jesus and your child is talking to the other child about Jesus. The kid asks your kid, "what about evolution, didn't we come from apes?" If your child is not informed about the lies that are going to be taught to him, how can your child properly defend creation? Your child would have no idea of what the other child was talking about. YOUR job is to make sure your child knows and understand the truth, just prepare him. That's what I did, and my 11 year old has more faith in God and the Bible than most adults! He KNOWS God created us and he KNOWS that evolution is only an idea people have, not a fact. The only way evolution can be even a little true is in that over the centuries, different species may have co-habitated and a new one formed, for me that is the only evolution that would apply. God made everything and then they reproduced, some evolved into different species due to mating. Big Bang, okay, well, maybe it did happen the way science has figured it, BUT.............. it still started with matter and gases, etc. How did that get there? God of course! So God forming the universe could appear to the human eye as science describes it, but God was still the one causing it to do this and also creating the matter and gases, etc. As far as sciences calculations, either they are wrong, or as in the bible it says, a day is a thousand years for God. TIME was created by God, and time differs from earth and in space.

Jessica,
If our children believe everything that they are taught in school or society then they will have real problems. I am sure that we need to teach our children that adults and children are all sinners and all are prone to making mistakes. It is written in the scriptures that "All have sinneda nd fall short of the Glory of GOD." We know that there are people everywhere that will hurt our children and us for that matter in society. We need to teach our children the truth of the scriptures and that nothing ever takes GOD's Place in our lives. Jesus Christ is our LORD and SAVIOR. HE alone has the ability to save us from an eternity in HELL. HE will come when GOD sends HIM to Judge each and every one of us according to what we have done according to the New Testament scriptures. That is why we must read, study, and obey those scriptures as we are commanded to do. It is not possible for anyone to change each and every teacher from teaching the falseties of this world. All we can do is teach them the TRUTH and make sure that they know the difference and how to teach others the TRUTH also. We need to go out and continually teach GOD's WORD as CHRIST commanded us to do in the Great Commission. Have a great evening.

Well they will be taught that in a public school. Either put them in a private school or teach them the truth at home. They will be exposed to many other falsehoods in the future, you can not shelter them from that. Teach them the truth and it will stay with them even if they falter for a while. When they get a bit older show them some other features of good old Darwin, like he believed that the different races had not yet evolved to be equal. Nasty little problems like that are, of course, left out of the class room.

Any you will rather having them believe a stork bring them from a far ?
Monkeys are not dumb ..... people who wants others to believe what a book says without proof is dumb ...... just like some idiots who insisted that the world is flat and would not glitch an eyelid to burn others on stakes because their book says so.

then you should take a few college coursed in evolutionary biology, so that you can understand what the actual science of evolution is. evolution does not say that we came from a monkey, it is a theory that we came from a common ancestor with the modern Chimpanzee.
furthermore the Chimpanzee is not stupid, they can understand and learn sign language. they understand and have emotions and feelings.
besides are you and your future kids that insecure in your beliefs that a 9 month 40 minuit a day class can shake them so badly?

If anyone is teaching your (future) kid that they came from a monkey, then they have not read the curriculum very closely.
Evolution claims that humans and apes have a common ANCESTOR, which is not quite the same thing. Perhaps if you understood what you were asking about, you might not be so angry.

if you are so scared that you will be such an incompetent parent that you cannot educate your child before hand to ignore the two or three things he will be taught in school that you object to
then you are free to send your child to a Private Christian school were they can learn that Adam and eve played with dinosaurs.
