just wondering me and my friend need a place to crash and wed probably pay with cash

Not supposed to-if look underage they might ask for ID.

They aren't suppose to. The first problem is you aren't old enough to enter into a contract. The laws say only adults can be held responsible for contracts they enter. That isn't bad for something simple like stores ending an agreement by selling you something. But at a hotel you can rack up a big long distance bill and room service, you could trash the place, or you can somehow get injured or pregnant and they will have angry parents to deal with.

Most hotels require a copy of a credit card but may settle for a cash deposit on the room.

Usually you need to be 18. But there are complaints by youth that a lot of US hotels have a policy of 21 and over.

Your best bet would be to act mature and try a basic motel that doesn't look like it has a big list of policies. I would call ahead and ask.

if USA: think you are supposed to be 18. Probably find some cheap motel which doesn't care, though.
