How do you ask your guy friend to be your boyfriend?

And how do you know when's the right time to ask him?

Should I ask him out on a date first and if he accepts then after how the date goes(if it goes good), ask him?

first off this should be something done when the two of you are hanging out alone, so find a way to get him alone and then casually ask him if he has ever though about you as more than a friend. before he answers let him know that you have thought about it. if he has thought about it chances are the conversation will end in a kiss. if he hasnt there will be a chance of awkwarness so you have to be prepared to that. in which case just tell him that if he hasnt thought about you that way its cool and that you hope you can still be friends.

little thought: if you really really like him then go ahead and make the move. if not, then maybe you shouldnt risk loosing the friendship, because you dont know how he's going to act if he feels werided out by your confession. there is a chance he'll treat you differently. so if you think you wouldnt be able to handle that then you should think twice before you take that step. i wish you good luck!

asking a guy friend to be your boyfriend is a "bold" step. Maybe he might not like someone to be that bold. Usually when a female asks a guy to become her boyfriend it means she's telling him she's going to be free with sex. That's not a good idea.
When is the right time to ask him? When you're 30 and both know you're ready to marry. Any other suggestions? Yes, don't do it.

Don't do either girl. Making the first move always backfires on a woman. Sorry, I don't like it either but it's the law of romance. Even if he is interested and you hit it off as a couple, you will always feel insecure in the relationship because he did not approach you. One example of a trainwreck of a relationship that started with the woman making the first move is the Bill and Hilary Clinton relationship. Yes Hilary approached Bill, and look at them now. I like the date idea... You could also try just straight up telling him how you feel. But stick with the date, taking him out is a really cool way to start the relationship.
