I am 13, 5'0 88 pounds. I know people are going to say "Oh you are too young, you are skinny ect" But I have a flabby stomache & thighs. I head I should eat 2000 calories but thats crazy!! I eat about 3 meals a day + snacks and I normally have about 1200 without counting calories which I burn about 100 a day. Anyway, That sounds great to eat 2000!! But I don't think that will help me tone up and become a better runner ect. Any tips?

As long as your body fat is reasonably low (which it has to be given your weight), it's not eating less calories that will tone you up-its doing muscle building exercises such as situps, squats, leg curls etc. Another thing; eating less than 1200 calories per day puts your body in starvation mode and slows down your metabolism. Keep eating 1200 cal/day (at least) but switch out any junk food for healthy calories such as fruits and veggies.

you are young . fallowing a diet at your age, may damage your digestive system. if you want to gain a little bit of wait without fallowing a diet, you need to consider on drinking high calorie drinks like ensure or boost. you can also make milk shakes with whole milk. but do not overdose.

i would say for your size, 1600-1800 would be perfectly healthy. 2000 calories isnt for everyone. however, 2000 still wouldnt be a bad idea if your physically active (which for your age, you should be).
