Because your hormones go crazy and release chemicals that make you think you're in love when you're really not... I'm not saying this happens to all teens, but a lot of them, yes...
Stage 1: Romantic Love
You release endorphins that create sensations of intense pleasure that accompany infatuation.
"In this highly charged emotional state, you are apt to project images, expectations and ideals of the perfect mate onto your partner. These projections often have little to do with who your partner really is, but it's hard to tell because both of you are on your best behavior. Reeling with romance and passion, you and your partner are highly responsive to each other."

People say that it's 'puppy love' when teenagers develop strong feelings for one another and that seems belittling. Your feelings are important and strong and should not be taken lightly. Whether we're 16 or 60, we have the ability to feel the joy and excitement of a new love and also feel the pain and sadness of a lost one. You will probably find yourself falling in love several times during your life, and it will hurt when the relationships break up, but it will make you stronger and hopefully make you realize what you truly want in a life partner.
By the way, I started going out with my husband when I was 15, in 1965, and we've been married for almost 39 years. Personally, I wouldn't recommend getting married so young or before having several relationships because you could wake up at 50 yrs. old and realize you've missed something...... Trust me.

Love is just as strong, if not stronger when you are young. However, the problem rests in the fact that teens are not quite able to support themselves and if love turns to sex and sex turns to a baby... well, it's not an easy road to go down. So, enjoy these days but be careful, be very careful.

When you are young, your hormones are usually out of whack which can cause you to maybe "feel" like your in love when it may just be a crush or "puppy love". But age shouldnt matter about love. If you are truley in love, you'll know it, and age wont matter.

well, i know for a fact that you can be in love at an early age. i fell in love with my husband when i was only 17. it was love at first sight (literally) and we've been together for 18 years now, married for more than 12. but i don't think it happens that way for everyone, i just got lucky, lol.

Romeo and Juliet was that age.
True love can start at any age... just depends on the maturity of the persons.
