I am aiming to lose about 70 pounds and I found this wonderful answer here on Yahoo Answers that talked all about what I should eat and how I should eat 5 to 7 small meals per day and always eat breakfast. I have read in most places that most people should be drinking 64 OZ (or 8 glasses) of water per day. I have read though on this forum that you should drink a gallon of water a day, but can't you drink too much water? If I am excersing 30 minutes a day (Tae-Bo) is drinking more then 64 oz of water okay?

Yes, you can drink too much water. A radio station recently had a contest on who could drink the most water and not go to the bathroom. The radio station has been shut down with a huge lawsuit pending.

A lady won and went home and died that evening. I don't know about the amount that you are drinking, but you definitely can die from drinking too much water.

It sounds crazy I know, but it has also happened in college hazings. I think as long as you are exercising, drinking more water may be needed. I think most of the deaths from drinking too much water are drinking it nonstop for a dare or contest.

Never. You can go without eating, but without water you will most certainly die. I drink 3 gallons of water per day. I am 50, but still get carded. I also drink 2 tbls. of apple cider vinegar in an 8 oz. glass of water. Read the book :you're not sick, you're thirsty". ACV curbs the appetite. Has 93 minerals and vitamins. I always tell people you must drink more water. Read about the water cure. Water protects against osteoporosis. Makes hair breautiful too. Cleanses the colon. Most people do not go to the bathroom everyday due to a dirty colon, which causes all sorts of illnesses. Read about apple cider vinegar too for more information.

You're okay so long as you don't force yourself to drink a lot of water really fast. Do you remember on the news not too long ago those fraternity hazings where they force the new members to drink lots of water. They thought this was safe but you can die somehow doing this, i know you won't believe me and i can't explain how it happens exactly.

You CAN drink too much water. A local radio station had a contest where everyone had to drink as much water as they could and not urinate...and whoever lasted the longest got a play station or something. She ended up dying. Not cool....You have to take hints from your body, never overdue it. Good luck hun!

I'd say drink some gatorade or sports drink in there. it is also available in powdered form for mixing your own.
*do a search on *HYPONUTREMIA.
your body needs to replace electrolytes.
people do die from drinking too much water, just heard about another case last week.
if your sodium gets too low, the salinity of your blood/body goes down.
(if the salinity gets too low, your blood & body can't properly conduct the pulses, that transmit the electric signals to the organs, that tell them to keep on working. if the organs can't pick up the proper pulses, they stop, and then you can get dead in a heartbeat.)

8 glasses of water are the most you should be drinking, People have died from kidney failure by drinking too much.
It's good to drink water, and 8 are enough to help your kidney function and its good for your liver, it doesn't have to work as hard but too much is not a good thing.

If you drink too much water, you will die like that woman on the news. If you drank a gallon in the next 10 minutes you would gain 4 pounds. Drink too little water and you die. Drink when thirsty and try to eat a lot of water like foods high in water content.

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.

yes you can drink too much water and it can kill you,as shown recently with the woman who died on a game show.
remember that everything you eat contains water to a larger or lesser degree,so arbitraroly drinking water when your body is not calling for it is really bad for you.
go with you instinct if you are not thirsty do not drink water.
if you are serious about dieting ,willpower and cutting foods that you know are bad for you, even salad with dressings that nullify the benefits,is the way to go.that and willpower!!
good luck

You should aim for at a minimum of 64 oz of water per day, but since you are exercising you should increase that to 80 oz. The best motto is, is to drink when you are thirsty. Listen to your body. It is possible to drink too much water. People die because they drink too much water.

Water is generally one of the healthies things you can drink, if you drink to much of it, it is possible to have your kidneys shut down or even possibly die from something known as water poisoning, granted it's hard to do but it is possible.
