You might try Yoga or Pilates. Those will tone you really well while giving you good flexibility. If you have Yoga as an option, look for Ashtanga Yoga as that will give you the best musculature without getting the bulky look you want to avoid.

Keep in mind, though, that you shouldn't avoid weights or bodyweight exercises. Toned muscle is MORE muscle. You just need to make sure you do a program with plenty of flexibility and core work so that you don't get bulky.

Talk to a trainer if that's available at your gym. He/she should be able to help you. And some gyms give you a session or two with a trainer free when you join. Don't be ashamed to ask for help... that's why they're there. You've already started on the road to the body you want.

Remember the old adage: Beginning is half-done.

Many people have that problem where they pick up weights and work out for a couple days and then BAM, Arnold Schwarzenegger is looking back in the mirror.

Muscle doesn't appear overnight, it takes years to look like a "bodybuilder"

Use some weights, it helps burn calories (get thinner) while stimulating muscles (toning muscles)

Use smaller weight and more repetitions, that way you will tone your body and not develop muscles underneath your body fat.
With the stomach it's equally important to also go on a fat reduced diet, if you develop musles on your tummy, it will look bigger. Do leg raises standing and also lying and crunches
that is the best, but remember reduce the fat in your diet too and also the carbs. Bagels, Donuts, Cakes, too much bread will go straight to your stomach. You've heard of the beer belly, well beer has a lot of carbs.

No you shouldn't worry about bulking up. It is harder for girls to put on muscle mass than guys. Plus you will tone way up before you really get bigger anywhere. Cardio is great so keep it up. And weights if you want to go ahead.

Lol no that won't happen. Bodybuilders work out hours and hours a day, eat tons of protein, and use steriods. Most women don't gain bulky muscle so no harm. Go ahead use weights, you won't grow giant pythons.
