If you had asked this question about ten years ago, then maybe I would have answered yes, but with all the house fires that is starting for no apparent reason and for bad wiring, I would most definitely say,NO I would not chance it, it seem that the new apartments and houses are not build up to standard and the old ones are not kept up to standard, it is better to be safe than sorry. Pick a time when you will be home, cook your food in your crockpot and then put it in a bowl in the refrigerator if you are going to eat it within a few days that is, if not then put it in a freezer safe container until you are ready to serve......ENJOY

As far as I know, it's ok. I have some friends from Hong Kong. All of them work including the wife. They let rice cook in it all day. Well, all work day. It's done by the time they get home.

absolutely! Just make sure there is sufficient moisture to cook the food properly (cooking all foods(meats and vegetables) in it will reduce and the liquid will recirculate in the covered pot but ocasionally might dry out if left on high too long and forgot about until later than intended)

Most people do leave it on. However I wouldn't leave it on unattended for extended periods of times. It is probably safe but there is something about leaving something cooking while your not home that bugs me. Kind of like leaving your coffee maker on.

Absolutely. That is the purpose of it. Just follow the directions. A little bit of liquid so it doesn't burn. That is unless you are planning on being gone for the weekend or so but it would probably still be ok - just burnt.

That is how they are meant to be used. Fill them in the morning before you leave for work, turn them on, go to work, and come home to dinner ready to eat.

Yes!
I've let mine cook all day and all night with no problems. Just be careful not to let it boil over.
