first of all, i am asking in respest. i am not making fun or being a jerk to you folks but i want to understand, why?

i don't understand this at all. what is all the talk about the rapture. is your life that bad on earth? how about your family on earth you love? or is the rapture going to take them with you? reminds me of a dead zone episode.

why do you have to leave earth to feel better about yourself or get closer to god. isn't god on your lips, mind and in your heart? isn't that good enough?

if i said i was a prophet would you believe me? why do you believe every single thing some one tells you?

The Rapture is when Jesus comes for His own, that is the saved people who are still alive on earth. I would hope that all my friends and family are saved, so that they will go too. However, there will be the period of tribulation, that lasts 7 yrs when they have the opportunity to accept Jesus before they die, that is the last chance to be saved before time is up.

When the Rapture happens, we will go to Heaven to live w/Jesus forever, that is cool, isn't it?

No, I wouldn't believe your a prophet because you say you are not making fun of us, yet you ask why we believe every thing someone tells us.

This life on earth is nothing compared to Heaven. You have no sickness no death no crying no pain. Nothing evil we have to deal with here on earth everyday. We will praise God and live with Him for all eternity. Why can you be around so many people at times and still be lonely? Because God has made us that way. He is the answer we are looking for. Im not lookinig forward to the Rapture only because I know what follows. I wont be here but anything that has happened here on earth will fail to compare with what is about to happen. If you dont have a relationship with God repent now and be saved. The tribulation is something you dont want to be alive during. It is literally hell on earth. Repent and be saved. Let me just leave you with this. We are all going to die someday.......you cant escape it. Maybe sooner than you think. Lets say for manys sake there is no God .What did you lose by helping your fellow man. But then lets say there is a God. You dont want to hear the words I never knew you ye who work eniquities. You dont want judgement if you go to judgement prepare for eternity in hell. Peace out..............

Many Christian denominations boo hiss the idea of suffering. They are kind of the health and welfare guys that don't think if you are a Christian you are going to suffer in this life. Alot of them are pretty confused at the end because the suffering comes inevitably and they don't understand why them. I think it's a little like the seed falling where the roots don't take good because of the soil. There is no such thing as the Rapture. That is not biblical and they will not get out of here until they have paid every drop or unless Jesus comes back first.

Well, coming from a Southern Baptist background, I know a bit about the rapture. Haha!

Although I don't really agree with all of the concept, I DO agree that being with God anywhere is better than being with even those we love the most here on earth.

Also...the world isn't good. Think about all the cool stuff here (sunflowers, Jell-O, snowflakes, cookies, music, Windex), and imagine sunflowers without bees, Jell-O without the fear of making it clumpy, melting snow, burned cookies, Hilary Duff, or spotted windows! It only gets better.

Life has been very disappointing to many people in middle America, and the idea of a rapture is looking pretty good. I just read an interesting article about this, let me see if I can dig up the link...

Because the Bible promises that Heaven will be awesome! I mean, I can definitely see where you're coming from. I don't want to die either, and I'm not pushing for my time to come. But some people are so stoked about the idea of no more sorrow and troubling times that Heaven seems great. I guess it just depends on what kind of life you have.

i'd not positioned it that harshly. there are cases at the same time as i'm unable to understand the hatred and the intolerance. i detect that Atheists should be purely as gentle. If i did not have self assurance what I say..i'd not make an attempt to say it. I do imagine it should be better effective if Atheists ought to take better time expressing what they have self assurance and a lot less time bashing others for his or her beliefs. i'm firmly confident that if guy can not hit upon the thanks to take excitement in the changes and study popularity and tolerance for another we are doomed as a species.

The concept of the rapture is biblical.

1Th 4:17 -
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

"caught up"- literally snatched up, carried off. We get rapture from Latin verb, rapiemur. It means being "caught up." You are literally lifted off the ground to meet the Lord in the air.
