I just got my dvd/vcr unit back from the panasonic dealer via UPS. I went to set it back up and the remote control will not even turn the unit on. I can't even set the language menu. Is there a way to reset the remote? The manual is no help.

You might first check to see if the remote has batteries. From experience, I have had manfacturers return my item to them WITHOUT batteries-- I don't know if this is for safety reasons or to reduce the weight of the item (as if 2 AA batteries really weight so much!!).

One "Plan B" solution I have is to get a cheap universal remote control. if that works, then your remote is bad. If that does not, then that means that your IR sensor of your unit is the problem. Also, you might check to see if there is a protective cover or something on the InfraRed sensor of your unit. Good luck!!
