The millennial reign comes about after the battle of armageddon. This will occur after the Great Tribulation, when Jesus returns to the Earth. Satan will be thrown into the Abyss for a 1000 years, and Jesus will set up his kingdom on Earth. Saints will be rulers with Christ during this time frame.

The millenial reign is for the Judgment on Christianity, the verdict is in, the time of grace is over.

after the 7 year tribulation, satan will be locked away for 1,000 years. In this time, the dead in Christ will rise and serve the true King. There will be a remnant of those who refuse to serve Him - those people who survived the tribulation, but do not accept Christ.
After the thousand years, satan is released, but only for really really short time before he, his demons, and those who rejected Christ are thrown into the lake of fire for all of eternity.
during the milennium, we all get jobs and things like that. once a year, we will make a pilgrimage to see the Savior, our King, who will be seated in the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem.
