adding mass to the lateral head of the deltoid will add width to your upper body. fortunately this is also the easiest head to stimulate. you can make your chest grow out but not wider. what you really want to focus on is the lats to widen the entire upper body.

all this is accomplished with a training routine based on heavy eccentric training using compound exercises.

Weight lifting.

Eat only when hungry.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Further eat only when hungry. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

I'm not sure you can "Widen" your shoulders, but as far as working out the chest, i most definitely would suggest Push ups. I'm X-Army and have "Pushed the Earth" many times. My chest size has increased three fold since joining. You can work out your shoulders by simply doing Shrugs. Do all exercise in moderation, Good luck

Hauling square bails of hay. Try throwing 50 to 70 pound bails of hay up on a trailer all day in the hot sun and you will get wider shoulders and a pumped chest. Or, get on a good weight workout routine.

At the same time? For the shoulders, hit them from several angles.. Dumb bells work best.. Laterals, front, side and back.. Chest. You can do parallel bar dips, flat bench flyes and pullovers.
