Your lymph nodes are swollen and maybe the tonsils. Could be the Strep bug or some other critter, but you need to get checked by the doc if it persists. In the meantime, try Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash a few times a day. It's a good germ killer. The original flavor is nasty but the new minty or citrus ones aren't too bad. Seriously, it works....I had a sore throat maybe 2 weeks, couldn't even swallow an aspirin & I tried this and the soreness was almost completely gone by the next night. Now I use it twice a day, for preventive and it's also good for the teeth and gums. Hope you feel better.

It's likely that you have sore throat. Make sure you see a doctor to get some antibiotics to treat it - untreated strep throat can lead to complications such as kidney and heart infections.

There's an off-chance that you have viral tonsilitis. In that case an antibiotic wouldn't help you, but the condition is also less serious.

Take some ibuprofen in the mean time to lessen the pain.

You need to see a doctor. Most likely strep throat but it could be mono. They would need a blood test to determine mono. Don't worry, probably strep. They can swab your throat and see if it is. Since it is persistent, you really should see a doc. Try gargling with warm salt water. About 1/2 a teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of water. It can help with the soreness.
